Course Overview

Why would someone like to learn a ukulele? Or perhaps, the question should be – why would someone not want to learn the ukulele?  An instrument that can be a perfect company for vocal performance and also so simple to learn is a rare combination that a ukulele possesses. It is not only comparatively less complex than a guitar but also has a melodious and soul-touching sound which is surely enough to win hearts when played. Because of its easy-to-understand and simple techniques, anyone who is a beginner can easily learn the basics of the instrument. Also, if someone loves to sing and wants to learn something to accompany their singing, nothing is better than learning a ukulele.

Our course helps the learners to understand the advantages of learning a ukulele and to explore the instrument and its various dimensions. Our professionally trained and experienced educators are dedicated and aware of how to teach the instrument, starting from its basics to the advanced levels. A learner here not only learns the technical parts of the instrument but also learns how to play his favorite songs on the same.

Every class is designed in such a way that the student is able to have active interaction with the teacher throughout the session and can ask any doubts or questions to understand the concept better. Not only this but the students are also encouraged by monthly competitions held between all the learners learning in the platform. The winners are rewarded with exciting prizes which encourage all the learners to constantly improve and excel in their respective subjects.

We aim at maintaining a positive and healthy learning environment on our platform as we understand that stress-free and simplified learning methods ensure effortless growth.

Monthly assessments are held for both teachers and students where the teachers discuss with the parents and the students, the student’s progress, strong points, and points of improvement. The students are also invited to provide their honest feedback on the teacher they are learning with and based on the same, teachers are constantly made aware of their works of appreciation and points of improvement.

Objective of the course

We aim at – 

• Introducing the students to the basic techniques of playing the ukulele like hand positions, finger positions, strumming, basic notes, frets and strings, chords, chords transitions, chord progressions, 
• Teaching the students, how to compose melodies on the instrument. 
• Introducing the students to the various concepts related to music like melody, rhythm, harmony, pitch, major and minor, tempo, dynamics, legato and staccato, crescendo and diminuendo, intervals, tones, and semitones, ornaments, the evolution of music, etc.
• Introducing sight read skills like staff, notes, and types of notes, counts, rests, bar and bar lines, time signatures, clefs – treble and bass clefs, grand staff, ledger lines, major and relative minor scales on the staff, key signature, circle of fifths, triads on the staff, ornaments in the staff.
• Teaching the students, songs starting from basic level songs like rhymes followed by a student’s favorite songs and chord accompany while singing.

Outcome 

After the completion of the course, the learner will be aware of all the technical and conceptual dimensions of the instrument. The learner will also be able to play his favorite songs and melodies with efficiency. Alongside, the learner will know how to identify and play chords for any song of his choice.
