Course Overview

The classical vocals of India are not only the representation of a form of music but are also a melodious representation of the whole Indian Culture. When someone goes for learning Indian Classical Vocals, they not only learn the diversities of vocals music but also receive an overall impact on the whole individual personality. We do not see Hindustani Classical Vocals as merely a subject to be taught but as a culture to be delivered. You not only learn Sa, Re, Ga, Ma but you also learn the significance of the goddess Saraswati in Hindustani Vocals. You learn the origin and evolution of music in different parts of India and how diverse forms of Classical singing got classified into major Gharanas. 

Our course helps the learners to understand the subject in a way that they are clear about all the concepts starting from the basics to the advance in the best possible way. We aim, not only to teach but also to make the learner understand the significance of every concept in developing his vocals qualities and getting a better understanding of the subject. 

Every class is designed in such a way that the student can have active interaction with the teacher throughout the session and can ask any doubts or questions to understand the concept better. Not only this but the students are also encouraged by monthly competitions held between all the learners learning in the platform. The winners are rewarded with exciting prizes which encourage all the learners to constantly improve and excel in their respective subjects.

We aim at maintaining a positive and healthy learning environment on our platform as we understand that stress-free and simplified learning methods ensure effortless growth.

Monthly assessments are held for both teachers and students where the teachers discuss with the parents and the students, the student’s progress, strong points, and points of improvement. The students are also invited to provide their honest feedback on the teacher they are learning with and on the basis of the same, teachers are constantly made aware of their works of appreciation and points of improvement.

Objective of the course 

This course aims at –

1. Introducing the students to various techniques of Hindustani classical vocals like Sargam, swar, alankaar, aaroh, avroh, raag, parichay, pakad, sargam geet, chhota khyal, bada khyal, alaap, taan , badhat, swar vistar, laya khel, tarana , gun, murkhi, andolan, khatka etc.
2. Introducing the students to the various concepts related to the subject like dhun, taal , bol, maatra, sam, thaat, jati, gayan samay, vadi swar, samvadi swar, taanpura, shuddha swar, komal swar, teevra swar, origin of swaras, gharanas etc
3. Introducing and delivering the knowledge of major raagas like bhairav , yaman, bilawal, bhupali, khamaj, kafi, bhairavi, durga, bageshri, abhogi, maarva, vasant, aasavari, maalkauns, bheempalasi, todi, desh etc.
4. Teaching various songs based on raagas and various popular bhajans in hindustani music.
5. Preparing the students for various examinations and guiding them on how to appear for the same. 

Outcome 

After the completion of the course, the learner will  come up with improved vocal and tonal quality. He/she will also be aware of all the technical and conceptual parts of the subject. Also, the learner will know major ragas in Hindustani Vocals Music and will be eligible to perform in events and appear for the examinations for the same.
